Metal roofs can also withstand impact damage from wind-driven debris that often accompanies hail storms and hurricane force winds.

• Prone to rusting
  Despite being made of metal, metal roofs are not prone to rust and corrosion. Most metal roofs sold today are coated with a substance made of zinc and aluminum that prevent the onset of rust.
