Lightning strikes
Just because your roof is made of metal, it doesn’t mean that it will attract all lightning bolts in the area. The risk of lighting strike is the same regardless of what kind of roof your house has. Bonus: If your roof does get hit, your metal roof will safely disperse the energy throughout your roofing structure. It’s also not combustible or flammable so it won’t burn.

Increased noise Contrary to popular belief, metal roofs actually reduce or eliminate noise from rain when properly installed. Metal roofing is recommended to be installed atop a solid and thick sheathing. When installed according to recommended guidelines, metal roofs keep out noise from rain, hail and wind better than other roofing materials.

Easy dents In most cases, metal roofing can withstand extreme weather conditions and impact damage. Most metal roofs are rated with a 150-mph wind rating which is equal to the force of an F2 tornado. Metal roofs can also withstand impact damage from wind-driven debris that often accompanies hail storms and hurricane force winds.

Prone to rusting
Despite being made of metal, metal roofs are not prone to rust and corrosion. Most metal roofs sold today are coated with a substance made of zinc and aluminum that prevent the onset of rust.
